Notes

According to the Word Bank Doing Business report for Puerto Rico (2019), anyone who pays the official fee can obtain land ownership information at the agency in charge of real estate registration in the largest business city. The report states that the majority of land records and maps are kept in digital format. Puerto Rico has as central registry that is searchable online after user-registration, using the Karibe interface website. The Karibe website allows searches using very specific administrative identifiers, and only one of those property identifiers is accessible through another website. Indeed, different information regarding properties can be accessed through an official Geospatial Information System website, where the cadastre number corresponding to properties can be found. Puerto Rico appears to have another website to access cadastre information (www.satasgis.crimpr.net), but as of September 2019, this website is inoperational. Thus, Puerto Rico operates a central registry for domestic real estate, and some registry data is available online.
