It appears that the Right to Financial Privacy Act also applies to Puerto Rico (SSA.gov), so we conclude that the situation in the US also applies to Puerto Rico. "The confidentiality of bank account information is generally defined and delimited by the Right to Financial Privacy Act (12 U.S.C. § 3401-22)" (GF 2018: 89). The only sanctions mentioned in the Act are civil penalties (§ 3417 - Civil penalties).
