The Global Forum wrote that in Netherlands, legal entities including companies must keep reliable accounts including underlying documentation (GF 2013: 60-62). In 2019 the Global Forum mentioned that no change was made regarding the obligation to maintain underline documentation since the last review and that: "[…] failure to keep and retain books, records or other data in accordance with the requirements of tax legislation is a criminal offence and can be penalised by a term of imprisonment of up to six months, or a fine of the third category, amounting to EUR 8 200 (GF 2019: 64-66).
