According to the European Commission, there are three free zones operating in Italy. The official websites of the free ports of Venice and Trieste do not promote storage services for high value assets. No private actors where found to directly promote the uses of bonded or free zone facilities for such assets. However, a private company in the precious metals and diamonds business which otherwise offers storage services, indicated the availability of airport storage facilities for valuable assets at Rome and Venice airports. It is unclear whether such facilities are available to clients for non-transitory storage.
