418 *Freeports: Are freeports/free trade zones/foreign trade zones/bonded warehouses promoted as places to store valuable assets (e.g. gold bullion, art, precious stones, jewelry, cash, antiquities, wines, cigars, cars)? Yes
 Data Date: 2019

Notes

According to Austria's Ministry of Finance, freeports / free trade zones / foreign trade zones / bonded warehouses are not available as places to store valuable assets in Austria (TJN-Survey 2017). Indeed, European Commission documents confirm the absence of preferential trade zones in Austria. However, while most private actors promoting the storage of high value assets did not indicate a specific link to bonded warehouses, a company was found to promote the use of bonded facilities for the storage valuable artworks.
